Riz Biscuits

2½ cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 tablespoons shorting
1 cup buttermilk
½ teaspoon soda
1 pkg yeast

Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder together.
Mix shortening into flour.
Have buttermilk room temperature and dissolve yeast into that.
Stir mixture into flour with spoon (wooden one)
Makes very soft dough. Add more flour, and handle like buscuit dough.
Roll thin, and cut, stacking two together, buttering each piece with melted butter.
Let rise about 1 hour before baking.
Cook in 500 degrees oven.
Keep in icebox.
